THE SUN WITH MOON!

The character says THE SUN WITH MOON...sounds familiar? well, " You are sunlight and I moon, joined by the God's of fortune, midnight and high noon..." yup guys from the broadway play MISS SAIGON as pioneered by our very own Ms. Lea Salonga...now, aside from that song, I have no idea if this restaurant located at the third level of Wheelock Place have anything to do with Miss Saigon at all...the gang meet up as we always do as our every Saturday eat-all-you-can get together...total of seven hungry people queued up that RAINy night, the waiter told us they only have THE room for us, and Usually it's reserved for those willing to spend S$500 minimum of their dinner only but for us, he will make an exception...duh! ehem,, thanks uncle!
hmmm must really be our charms...oh is it Richard's??
As you can see here, I am trying to create a mood...and a dramatic effect...as dramatic as the exclusive room we got at this japanese dining cafe...hmmm yeah i know...FAILED!

this is what you called ambience ....with a capital A

this one is the SAIKORO STEAK...for the steak lovers...
i know this is squid man...but forgot the exact name of the dish...

UNAGI of course is my fave Japanese dish of all times, wherever i maybe...the unagi was tender and soft, with teriyaki sauce. while i did like the unagi, i wish they had been more generous with their serving.

as far as i'm concerned anything to do with oyster I LOVE... the menu says KAKI and we inquired what does it mean and yep it's oyster indeed, so Anette, Jody and moi ordered it ...wa wa wi wa! it's fried though, and i don't exactly remember what is it's name written in the menu but i sure do remember it tasted superbly...KAKI BACON YAKI!

The signature staple dish of Sun with Moon is the Kamameshi, according to our waitress, who by the way is a filipina student on-the -job trainee (gah! forgot her name, too bad we promised her an MC, tsk tsk), a more delicate cousin of the local favourite clay pot rice. The afternoon café features the scaled down version, the Mini Yakiniku Kamameshi served steaming hot with Miso Soup and Cold Dish. A little hourglass , which resembles the 3 minute hourglass of the game (Word factory/ Boggle) on top indicates when the wooden lid may be lifted to release the pent up fragrance of premium quality rice, a cute gimmick which delights us nonetheless.

i think this is SHISHAMO something...ooops please i really don't know the name of this one...but yeah it's fish and nope it's not an orange play-doh on the sides... these three flavored ice cream, were quite so-so, a green tea, black beans and a sesame seed flavors...ahhhh i still prefer chocolate, strawberry, mango, langka, ube, buko, macapuno...
and a japanese style crepe...hmmm okay yummy enough...

and this is what Richard called parfet ...chocolate parfet ! (read: PARFAIT)

all in all...OISHI ne!!!!
